About Transforming Education and Community Health (TEACH) Programs

In 2005, the University of California, Davis partnered with the Sacramento County Department of Health and Human Services to create the Transforming Education and Community Health (TEACH) Residency Program: an innovative HRSA supported education program that places residents into primary care and medically underserved communities and increases access to care for the medically underserved.

Based on our successful residency program, we have expanded the TEACH Program to include the  Community Engagement Rotation and TEACH for Medical Students (TEACH-MS) Program to create an experience tailored to medical students and interns and a continuum of support for primary care education and workforce development at UC Davis.
